Hi there! I’m Jeremy Sturm and I am sure you have a few questions about personal training, what the details are and what all comes along with it. Let’s Review a few commonly asked questions and see if this gives you a bit more insight as to what I do.

  • Now the word “functional” is thrown around quite often and has been most associated with High-Intensity Interval Training and Crossfit style workouts.

    However, in personal training, functional training is designed to help you operate and perform at your best. By understanding how your body and joints move, identifying any imbalances, weak spots, and tight or overstretched muscles, and ultimately getting your body to move fluidly and smoothly in and out of different positions. Creating a well-rounded physique of strength & balance.

  • During your free consultation, we will begin by simply talking about your past if you have any injuries, limitations, training experience, and what you would like to achieve.

    Following this conversation, we will run through some simple movement patterns to check your joint mobility, muscle flexibility, and how your body generally moves. As we go through each assessment, I will be sharing with you everything I see and more often than not, have you feeling more flexible than when you walked in, we will also address any imbalances right then and there.

    We will then discuss what training would look like for you, what exercises we need to focus on, and what imbalances if any, need to be prioritized. Discuss training frequency and duration, as well as availability. From here you can make an informed decision if you would like to proceed with the training program.

  • Yes! Nutrition is not only a huge part of training but life in general. So you will be receiving nutritional guidance and a game plan to help you achieve your goals.

    How it works is we will go over any dietary restrictions you may have and what foods you like/dislike, along with your daily schedule and REALISTIC expectations. Not everyone needs to eat 6 meals a day, nor do they have the freedom to do so.

    We will create an actionable plan that is simplified and fits into your daily life. Simplicity is absolutely key when it comes to this subject.
